Can we get married at Chilli Barn?

Yes, Chilli Barn is licensed for legal marriage and civil partnership ceremonies with Leeds City Council. Chilli Barn also welcomes celebrants for blessings, humanist and other alternative ceremonies.

Can we decorate and dress the Barn ourselves?

You have access to the Barn, with furnishings and dining tables already set up to your wedding plan, on the day before wedding day to decorate the Barn. If you also have a marquee or other structure, this will also be set up for you to decorate. At the end of wedding day, we will gather your decorations and any other belongings for you to collect the morning after your wedding.

Do you have parking?

Yes, we have a car park for your wedding guests. In addition, two public car parks serving Chevin Forest Country Park are just over the road.

What are the indoor facilities?

We have a ground floor bar, a wireless sound system, a wheelchair accessible toilet near the entrance and two toilets on the lower ground floor. The Barn is furnished with limewash Chiavari chairs, four large wooden tables seating up to 40 on the mezzanine and round dining tables with white cloths for marquee dining.

How is our wedding planned?

Your wedding plan is developed and shared online through face-to-face meetings and your own Chilli Barn planning portal. Our wedding planner will be in touch soon after booking to arrange an onboarding meeting. Another meeting is arranged around ten weeks before wedding day to discuss guest numbers, catering choices, party plans and the schedule for the day.

Can the outside areas be used for games?

Yes, the Barn’s lawn is ideal for setting up games to be played outside and for children to run about in safety.

What drinks are available?

Please ask to see our drinks menu which includes a range of premium gins. We can also source a cask of real ale from a local brewery for you.

Can music be played outside?

Our music licence is indoor only and when loud music is playing the bifolding doors are closed.

Are confetti and fireworks OK?

Biodegradable confetti is welcome but fireworks are not OK due to our location.

Can we get married outside?

Chilli Barn now offers outdoor legal ceremonies on the lawn between the Barn and  the meadow, weather permitting. Please ask for more information.

What are the outdoor facilities?

Barn hire includes exclusive use of the 50m x 16m grassed area and also access to the meadow and cobbled yard. A fire pit is available all year round and straw bales are set out like a giant sofa on the grass from April to October, weather permitting.

Can marquees, teepees and yurts be used?

These can be included in wedding plans to provide extra space for dining, reception or simply socialising and chilling out in the evening away from the main party action. A marquee attached to the Barn can seat 60 for dining. Teepees and yurts of various sizes can be used as a drinks reception/breakout space. We include these in your wedding package with heating, lighting and furnishings.

What are the nearest road, rail and air links?

The M1, A1 and M62 are all less than 15 miles away, Leeds is on the East Coast Line with a branch line to Guiseley (three miles) and Leeds Bradford Airport is just two miles away. Local taxi services are plentiful although advance booking is recommended for peak time on Saturday nights.

Does Chilli Barn have a recommended supplier list?

Please see our Local Suppliers page for a list of some of the photographers, florists, stylists, cake bakers, entertainers and others who have worked at Chilli Barn and we can recommend. Although daytime food is provided in-house, approved food trucks can be hired for evening party food.

How can we decorate the Barn?

Chilli Barn is a neutral backdrop for your wedding theme and many different approaches can be taken. You can decorate and personalise the Barn with friends and family the day before your wedding or employ a styling service. Furnishings, table settings and any outside structures will be in place and staff will be on hand. Decorations will be gathered for collection the morning after.

Are dogs welcome?

Yes, during the day. We advise you to designate someone to look after and take home your pet.

What is the party food?

In-house veggie/vegan choices include a burger, gyros or taco bar, cheeseboard feast, or a hot food bowl buffet. Food trucks can also be hired in for a service charge and can offer non-veggie/vegan choices.

Does Chilli Barn have a sound system?

Yes, our powerful wireless speakers can be used for your ceremonies, background music during the day and playlists. DJs and bands can also use them.

When does the party end?

Our music and bar licence is to 11pm when the chandelier brightens up, taxis start to arrive and guests say their farewells. An extension to midnight can be arranged.
